About the Book

Much has been written on the subject of “Taqlid and Ijtihad” or following a Madhab and legal discretion. In fact, I was adamant that I could add nothing further to this vast subject. However, the article arose quite coincidentally.

Anyone familiar with the Arabic language will immediately understand the verse, since there is no ambiguity in the statement, and nor does it clash with any other Islamic value it is readily understood.

“There is no preference of an Arab over a non-Arab.”

“Whoever has an Imam, then the Imam’s recitation is his recitation.”

“There is no Salat for he who does not recite Surah Al-fatiha.”

“So Ask the people of remembrance if you know not.”    (Surah Al-Nahl:43)
